Stephen C. Sokol is a retired police officer with over 25 years of experience in law enforcement. He has worked in various law enforcement capacities which include patrol operations, vice, and field training officer duties.
Stephen has also worked as a firearms examiner with over 400 microscopic case investigations in the police crime lab, examining crime scene evidence and completing laboratory analysis for court. He holds certifications in chemical, ordnance, biological, and radiological training.
He was also a hazardous material technician. Accumulating years of experience as a police helicopter pilot, he has flown various high level security operations that included multiple presidential motorcade protection missions with the U.S. Secret Service.
Completing his career in 2010 as an F.B.I trained bomb technician he has performed multiple render safe operations, and conducted presidential explosive detection searches with federal, state and local agencies. He has instructed explosive classes in several police academies in Michigan.
Stephen Sokol is the only member of the Detroit Police Department to have earned the title Police Aviator as well as Police Bomb Technician graduating from the F.B.I. Hazardous Devices School in Huntsville, Alabama.
He is a veteran of the United States Navy honorably discharged.
